Herbs

People have used herbs for their medicinal value,as well as for flavoring their food since the Garden of Eden.
The herbs I will list will be in two sections, the ones I have used and found usful, and ones that are listed for arthritics in the herb research I have done.

Herbs I have found useful:

1. Burdock - good for purifying the blood and removing deposits from joints

2. Parsely - A great blood purifier

3. Dandelion and Milk Thistle - Thes two together will start to cleanse your liver.

A wonderful substitute for pepper- Basil

People with rheumatiod arthritis should not use common black pepper. It irritates our joints. Instead you can use dried Basil. It has a flavor similar to black pepper and a benefit besides - anti inflammatory properties!
Researchers have found a substance called "eugenol" in the leaves and stems of basil that seems to provide pain relieving, and anti inflammatory effects. So start using basil instead of pepper !!

TUMERIC - Tumeric is the spice that gives mustard it's yellow color. It also has anti inflammatory properties!
I have tried it myself, and it does work. I have always liked mustard. The only consideration about tumeric and mustard was that sometimes I did not feel like eating mustard to get the tumeric into my system.
I went to my local health food store and guess what ? Yes !! They had a bottle of tumeric capsules !!
This made taking tumeric so much easier, and I got the benefit of the anti inflammation properties.
